Helena Łomnicka (Warsaw, PL) is a writer, cultural worker and researcher of contemporary spirituality with a lifelong fascination with the transcendent. She holds a BA in Philosophy and an MA in the History of Esotericism, what makes her particularly interested in investigating different manifestations of the relationship between the spiritual and the political. During the last years her research has been focused on esotericism in the context of hegemonies of knowledge, struggles over the “thinkable” and the neo-Marxist perspectives on spirituality. Using methods of text, workshop and esoteric practice in different contexts she aims to give visibility to other forms of knowledge and investigate the relevance of themes such as belief, myth and magic for the modern world.
In 2024 together with Antoni Czarczyński she has co-director of “Landscape of the Spirit” — a documentary film on the topic of Polish esoteric tourism, practice of radiesthesia and “places of power”. Currently based in Rotterdam, NL.
